This article makes me wonder what is the goal of Mexico's Instituto Nacional de Migración. To work towards protecting the human rights of (im)migrants, from a humanitarian perspective that understands and acknowledges the risks that these individuals face upon coming back to their places of origin --where violence, deprivation, and insecurity await them? Or to simply stop the immigration from central and south American countries altogether at any (human) costs?
This has very interesting implications, considering that Mexico is both a substantial recipient country of migrants and a transit country for migrants seeking to eventually move on to the U.S.
So sad! Intrnally Displaced Personas!
