Every month International Affairs publishes a new episode of our podcast, and I thought this episode would be of particular interest to Ilkmade enthusiasts. Tarak Barkawi from the LSE discusses his new book 'Soldiers of Empire' with George Lawson. The book asks central questions of military sociology (how are soldiers made? Why do they fight?) using as its case study the experience of Indian troops in Burma during the Second World War. Interesting listening for anyone working on race, postcolonial issues, defence and security, or military topics. Let me know what you think!
